I remember when I first saw you, how my breath stopped, my fast heart beat, and how my jaw locked.
I remember when I looked out when no else would, making sure you were alright, making sure that you were good.
I remember when you complained to me about your “best” friend, and I found out why your “best” friend was your “best friend”.
I remember when my fam died I cried in your arms. Your touch so comforting, hugs so warm.
I remember when you told me your man’s sex game was weak…How I wanted to be the one to satisfy you in the sheets.
I remember when you did my hair for NO MONEY just because you didn’t want to see me on campus looking bummy.
I remember when you tried to hurt yourself, I damn near cried. My pain was evident; you could see it in my eyes.
I remember when I went to hospital with you…You considered me a true friend…You know I really miss you.
I remember when we used hang out all day. Now it’s difficult for you to even look my way.
I remember when I said I was hungry, I was fed. Whenever I said I was tired, I had a bed.
I remember when we used post in the clouds, laughing out loud, talking about when we get old and gray. How our kids would know each other and we’d still act the same way.
I love you like it gets cold in December…FOREVER…I just want to remind you baby that I REMEMBER.
